About Me
I am married with two adopted children who have complex needs, and a cat, Ralph, and a dog, Elvis. Looking back on my life, I can see that I have always been motivated by helping people solve their problems, offering a safe space where they can be heard without judgement, and simply being kind. Over the years, I have accessed many professionals and have developed a deep understanding and appreciation of all things perceived not 'normal' by the uneducated. I enjoy cooking, gardening, interior design and house renovations and I love flowers! Flowers always bring a smile to my face and so I recently attended a floristry course to learn more about arrangements and displays.
My Story
I had worked in international financial services for nearly 30 years when my role was made redundant in 2021, and rather than rushing back into another finance role, I decided to stop and evaluate what made me happy and brought joy to my working life. The top three things were organising, problem solving and helping others. It was when I had a light bulb moment after I helped my elderly aunt, who suffers from Parkinson's disease, organise her wardrobe that I knew that becoming a Personal/Professional Organiser would be my perfect role. Before long, it became clear that I had adopted this role for my whole life without even realising it, helping friends and family with their organisational needs! So, I took the decision to join the professional body for Personal Organisers (ADPO) and complete some formal training. I set up Calm and Organised in 2022 and I am excited to be able to work with my clients, combining practical solutions with emotional support wherever necessary.
